Callaway X Hybrid
Enjoy the ultimate in hybrid performance and playability with the Callaway X Series hybrids. Borrowing technologies from the company’s X Series drivers and fairway woods, X hybrids incorporate a Modified X-Sole design for versatility and superior turf interaction, along with such proven Callaway designs as Variable Face Thickness (VFT), S2H2, and Tru-Bore. The Callaway X hybrids are built for maximum versatility. Constructed using feedback from PGA Tour pros, the X hybrids’ Modified X-Sole is the clubs’ most significant improvement over earlier incarnations. The Modified X-Sole interacts seamlessly with the turf, cutting through thick rough or gliding smoothly over tight fairways. It also lowers the club’s leading edge to help you easily and quickly launch the ball in the air. As a result, you can attack the ball from just about any location on the course, whether you’re launching shots off the tee or attacking the green from the rough. The X hybrid also offers increased perimeter weighting and an optimized center of gravity, helping boost the moment of inertia (MOI) and create greater stability on off-center hits. Explaining Callaway Golf Technologies In addition to the Modified X-Sole and perimeter weighting, Callaway X hybrids are equipped with several Callaway core technologies. The clubs’ Variable Face Thickness (VFT) technology, for instance, allows Callaway engineers to adjust the face thickness to maximize the ball speed and perimeter weighting of the club. This produces even more distance and forgiveness, a must when trying to eke out a few extra yards from the fairway on long par 4s and 5s. With VFT in place, the club is thicker in the center and ultra-thin around the edges, allowing the clubface to transfer more energy to the ball at the moment of impact. Another crucial improvement comes in the form of the S2H2 design, a patented technology that shortens the length of the hosel and allows Callaway to move the weight lower and to the more (more…)
